SIGN: Promotional Narrative Guidance
By reimagining the idea of the “signboard” and its place in society, this exhibition looks beyond its surface function—inviting a deeper exploration of how it shapes and reflects the world around us.
As p.n.g.’s first curatorial theme, Signboard speaks both to the sign as an individual marker and to the generations it represents collectively. A tool for self-expression and attraction, the signboard embodies the exchange between personal values and public identity, becoming, over time, both a cultural landmark and a mirror of society.
A signboard is never merely a signboard. It is a language that connects, translates, and reveals who we are.
Signboard: begins with a simple yet profound question—What is a signboard?, and unfolds through four curatorial lenses: Promotional, Narrative, Guidance, and Aesthetic Iteration. Together, they trace the signboard’s evolution as a reflection of human desire, communication, and cultural value.
